Is your DNS server slow - the key to your answer is Nambench

If you are frustrated with your ISP's DNS, Namebench  will find the fastest DNS for you.  This ended my frustration changing through trial and error.  My ISP turned out to have the fastest DNS - Namebench found servers that were much faster the the default.  Google and Open DNS were much slower.  Namebench is available for many platforms including OS X and Windows.

Work from any computer

One of my most important workflow tools is Dropbox.  Dropbox provide 2 GB of free storage.  You have a local folder on any computers on which you have installed the application. You can access your files from any computer.  Synchronization is automatic.  I find it far more useful than iDisk.  One thing to be careful of, if you access your files another Dropbox user's computer use a different browser to the one that they are logged in under.
